Shortly after getting married, I was sitting on the sofa with the wife watching my favorite show when I said, I'd like to build a classic car like I did with my Dad when I was 12. She said that sounded like fun and said "Let's build that" while pointing at the TV. The show we were watching? Supernatural. This was back in 2008. I initially responded with a "why that? It's a 4 door. Wouldn't you rather build a 68 Fastback Mustang?" She then said, "you asked and I said that. Let's build that." I figured it being a 4 door hardtop Impala would make it cheaper to get our hands on. Little did I realize the nightmare that would be us finding one. It took until December 2011 until we finally found one that didn't get sold out from underneath us before we could get to it and pick it up. We had been looking nationwide. Out of nowhere, a car lot that deals with mostly older classic cars a couple miles up the road ended up getting one and having it on their lot. We immediately bought it for $2000. As soon as we got it home I got to tearing it apart and fixing the rust and issues. Over the 6 months after purchasing the car, along with my Dad's help, we totally replaced all rusted panels, replaced the suspension and entire drivetrain. We removed the 283 SBC V8 and 2 speed powerglide and installed a freshly rebuilt 350 SBC V8 and TH350 Transmission. We decided to paint it with a satin paint for the time being until we could get to finalizing all of the body work and gaps. That brings us to today, the day I'm posting on Rideology.io for the first time. I took some of the pictures and used AI to up them to higher resolution due to the pictures being from almost a decade and a half ago.
